Barbers who also do shaving with cut throat razor?

Why are there so few of them? When I was little in the 1950s and my mother dragged me to the barbers for a vile haircut, there were always older men having a shave, with hot towels, cold towels, etc and a razor sharpened on a strop. I am trying to find a barber who still does this, but my efforts have so far produced no result. I have located one 20 miles away, he charges �16, other barbers have told me they stopped doing it because of AIDS. Any ideas?
