Are there extenuating cirstances as concerns public urination?

I have on occion needed to take an emergency squirt in the street, or even once in the corridor of a mover's warehouse. Recently while travelling with my family our car was caught in a traffic jam caused by demonstrators. After two hours my wife and daughter's teeth were swimming. The jam broke and I had to let them off into a sidestreet where both of them gushed. A policeman in the distance began shouting at them and we managed a getaway before he was close enough to note our plates. Had we been caught could the women have pleaded extenuating cirstances for their impromptu piddling?
